The Sensuous Elements of Naat Poetry by Iqbal
Abstract
Naat is a unique type of oriental poetry. It expresses the love for the Holy Prophet (PBUH). Iqbal as the poet of the east also expressed his emotions towards the esteemed Prophet Muhammad (PBUH). His poetry reveals the life and teachings of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH). This article tends to explore the sensuous elements in the Naat of Iqbal. It makes a powerful influence on his style of expression. His Naat explains sensuousness's aesthetic aspects and maintains a highly developed expression. Allama Iqbal has used poetic tools such as imagery, allegory, and metaphors which exhibit a remarkable stylistic approach. This article is a key attempt to explore the novel persuasiveness and cogency within the pretext of sensuousness, used in his poetry on various aspects of Naat.
