Abstract

Yaqoob Yawer is a renowned contemporary novelist, translator and a literary figure. Novel “Dil Mun” is his representative work. This novel is about Pre-Christ era Sindhi Intellectual tradition and cultural remnants from that period of time. He has fictionalized the wisdom and the cultural tradition saturating the historical cities, i.e., Mohenjo Daro and Harappa, that were alive beside the banks of Sindh and contributory rivers. Furthermore, some aspects of Sumerian culture are also present in this fictional piece. In this essay, the diverse facets of the wisdom and the cultural tradition, emanating from Dilmun, Hari Yupia and other cities of Sindh in pre-Christ era, have been brought to light.
