PAKISTAN’S CIVILIZATIONAL IDENTITY: HISTORICAL BACKGROUND

Abstract

 Muslims and Hindus, after living together for hundreds of years, neither became one nation nor did their civilization and culture become identical. The main reason for the creation of Pakistan is the difference between the civilization and culture of both nations. Pakistan is not the outcome of a war rather it has been titled as the Renaissance for the Muslims. This Renaissance provided the opportunity for Muslims of the Indian subcontinent to prove their splendid past and tremendous pinnacle in the future. But many controversies arose regarding the civilizational and cultural structure of Pakistan, just after its creation of Pakistan. Whether it should be purely Islamic civilization or a mixture of Hindu and Muslim civilizations. This article highlights the motives and evolution of Pakistani civilization which help in the identification of Pakistani civilization and culture.
