AN ANALYSIS OF POETIC CRAFT OF NAZIR AKBARABADI'S POETRY

Nazir Akbar Abadi is an eminent figure in Urdu poetry. He is the first public (Awami) Urdu poet. He put the foundation of Urdu poem (nazam) and led it to its climax. Apart from Nazam he was a great expert of Ghazal but, he is better known for Nazam. His poetry is peculiar for its mode, tone, rhythm, style and harmony which make Nazir diverse and distinct among other poets. Technically his poetry is multifarious, unique and diverse. He possesses an abundant vocabulary and that is the reason the skilfull use of rhetorics in their literal and contextual meaning (Sanaae Lafzi O Maanwi) is found in his poetry. The use of such technicalities makes his poetry menseful and fashioned. Avery splendid fusion of literal and contextual meaning is found in his poetry. Therefore, from technical perspective, the following Article explores such union of literal and contextual use of meaning (Sanaae Lafzi O Maanwi) in Nazir’s poetry.
